ASIPs nowadays abound in platforms such as TI OMAP, Freescale iMX and the like. For instance, some variants of the OMAP3 platform (such as OMAP 3430 illustrated below) include a video sub-system named IVA2.2 (see the red circle).

Further breaking down the IVA 2.2 subsystem, we see it is itself made of a C64 DSP core, Level 1 and LeveL 2 memories, a DMA, some other less important components (not shown here), and a video hardware accelerator, as TI presents it.

In reality, it is likely this accelerator could be further presented as a set of ASIPs, each of them being purpose-designed for a specific algorithm class. In IVA 2.2, this class of algorithms is centered on video decoding, and the surrounding ASIPs perform motion estimation, loop filtering, and similar types of processing found in video decoding.
